Achievements
The Elven Door Trilogy: The Fires of Sicarius
Whilst working at Pen2Print Publishers in 2007, I published my own book entitled 'The Elven Door Trilogy: The Fires of Sicarius'. This book is now being sold nation-wide and can also be found online at websites such as 'Amazon' and 'Waterstones', among others. I organised a launch party for the book at Pontefract Library which tied into a distribution deal with libraries in the Wakefield Metropolitan District Council (WMDC) area, where copies of the book can also be found. To promote the book, I was interviewed by the 'Pontefract And Castleford Express' and was have been featured in the newspaper.
NEW College Student Radio (NCSR)
During my final year at NEW College, I had the opportunity of co-founding a new venture - NEW College Student Radio (NCSR). Along with the Media department and a friend, we created a fully-licensed and operational radio station within the college, which is broadcast once a week live into the Common Room. During the initial setup process, I collaborated on the show by shaping its format and also by organising a location for the radio show, dealing directly with the technical team to create an environment suitable for broadcasting from. Once the station was up-and-running, I was in charge of updating, editing and maintaining the website in conjunction with the web team. I also presented the show on a weekly basis alongside Paul Barron, a member of the Media department at NEW College.
